To select the right measurement tools for specific purposes, the knowledge of psychometrics is essential. Towards this end, the Bangladesh Psychometric Society (BPS) offers training courses to psychologists, practitioners, researchers, educationists, and other professionals to provide deep and holistic views of how a psychometric measure is developed and used to assess any particular psychological construct. BPS intends to train up its target peoples through three levels of intensive online courses, namely basic, advanced, and applied levels. The basic psychometrics course is prepared to provide introductory knowledge covering mainly the basic principles of testing and measurement (e.g., reliability, validity, standardization, and norms) with an aim to apply the concepts in real-life settings, for example, recruitment and staff development in an organization. In continuation with the basic level, the advanced level can make the trainees competent enough by learning the application of different modern approaches (e.g., IRT, DIF, EFA, CFA model specifications through software) underlying the basic principles of testing and measurement. Lastly, the applied level course, after completing the basic and advanced level courses, intends to categorize the trainees reflecting their field-specific needs of psychometric tools and accordingly, train them the application of the appropriate psychometric tools to their respective fields of interests based on the expertise they gained through the trainings in previous two levels.
